Contact the firm
Write to the firm with a short description of the matter. An attorney reads every message, checks for conflicts of interest and replies with the next step, which is usually an initial consultation.

Describe the matter briefly
Please do not send confidential documents until the firm has confirmed that it can act. Sending this form does not create an attorney-client relationship.
- Conflict check
The firm checks that it does not act for another party in the same matter.
- Reply from an attorney
The reply sets out whether the firm can help and which documents it needs.
- Initial consultation
Fees are quoted upon reviewing the scope of the initial consultation, and depend on the complexity of the matter.
A first message can name the account type, the institution’s internal reference and the matter. The account holder’s private data is not needed at this stage. The firm acts on the whole file, from the determination of the account holder’s status to the release of the assets.

How an engagement works
Initial consultation
The firm reviews the documents and sets out the questions and the scope of the work. The fee is quoted once the scope is known.
Flat fees
Estate planning documents, treaty analyses and defined tax filings are carried out for a flat fee agreed in writing before the work begins.
Hourly fees
Estate settlements, litigation and ongoing counsel are billed by the hour, with an estimate at the outset.
